Maitrī or Metta translates to gentleness or gentle friend, and is commonly referred to to Loving Kindness. This powerful purifying practice can increase our ability to see ourselves, our relationships and the world with compassion and empathy.
In this self-guided course you will:
- Focus on what you want rather than trying to fix what you believe is wrong with you.
- Learn how to work directly with fear, which can keep you contracted against life.
- Experience a practice you can do anywhere and anytime.
- Discover the language most resonant with you in order to access your internal best friend.
- Go through a guided practice that incorporates all the aspects of a loving kindness practice to learn how to work internally and externally with fear, judgement, harshness, anger and pain.
Preparing for the workshop:
- Please set aside this time where you can be fully present. Turn off all other tabs on your computer. Put your phone on silent. Give yourself the gift of being focused and attentive to one thing, which in itself is a big practice!
- Wear clothes you are comfortable in.
- Bring a journal. If you enjoy art you can also bring crayons, markers or other things you enjoy using for expression after the session where you can journal and draw about your experience.
