Resourcing and Resilience: Navigating Recovery Through the Election

Join A Positive Alternative and Saumya Humpf, LMFT and Yoga Therapist, to bolster and strengthen your foundations of support so you can stay committed to your path, give space for the emotions that arise and utilize the body, mind and heart to more deeply access the inherent resilience within you.

This is an all genders group open to the public.

In this ½ day experiential workshop you will:

  • Acknowledge the resilience within you while learning to nourish and harness that resilience even more.
  • Learn how your nervous system is uniquely wired to deal with uncertainty and fear.
  • Work directly with your nervous system to settle and ground as well as allow the stress cycle to complete so your system doesn’t get stuck.
  • Explore the role of the body in the stress response and how to work with it effectively to navigate heightened levels of distress.
  • Honor the range of emotions arising and learn ways to allow and honor the valid and real feelings.
  • Look at how the election is related to triggers that can lead to relapse.
  • Work with a compassion-based meditation that can be an anchor for the mind and heart.

This experiential and embodied workshop will include movement, journaling, optional sharing (in group or dyads), meditation and mindfulness practices.
